Heart of Midlothian have unveiled the new third kit for the season ahead with the club's chief executive Andrew McKinlay describing it as "elegant".

The top is dark navy with maroon ribbed cuffs and collar, complimented by sleek gold embroidery.

A unique aspect of the third strip is Hearts fans can purchase it without the front-of-shirt sponsor Stellar Omada. However, supporters are given the option to add the branding if they wish when they buy it. When the team play in the third kit it will include the sponsor.

As with the home and away tops, the year of the club's foundation is on the back of the neck and Hearts is written on the socks with Umbro centenary stacked diamond embroidery on the shorts.

“I’m delighted that we’re able to reveal such an elegant third kit ahead of the start of the new season," McKinlay told the club's website.

“We now have three marvellous kits for all of our professional teams to compete in, and like everybody else I’m really excited by our imminent return to action.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming our fans back to Tynecastle Park against Leyton Orient on Saturday and I know the first team will look the part as we begin a blockbuster campaign.”

The kit is on sale now from both the Hearts clubstore at Tynecastle Park and online. It costs £57.50 for a short-sleeve adult top.

“We are, once again, really proud to have Stellar Omada across the front of a Heart of Midlothian jersey," Stellar Omada managing director Colin Frame said. “Like the home and away kits, this new third kit looks fantastic and we’re all looking forward to seeing it in action on the pitch.

“The reaction to our partnership has been tremendous and this is another huge positive in the relationship between Hearts and Stellar Omada.”
