Are Hearts missing any players?

Steven Naismith is without Beni Baningime and Calem Nieuwenhof for the match. Both midfielders are expected to be out until the international break next month.

"Kingsley has had a full week of training," he said. "He's one that will be itching to play. Other than that there are no others out, just those two. They will probably be international break when we are expecting them to be back in squads. Between now and then they are out on the pitch which is good. It's just about building them up."

What about Dundee?

Tony Docherty added Billy Koumetio from Liverpool. The centre-back has signed a two-year deal and could feature. Dundee will be without Joe Shaughnessy, Clark Robertson and Charlie Reilly due to injury issues.

What the managers said

Steven Naismith: It's an important game because, a year ago, we got beat in the same fixture. There was a lot within that performance which I believe we have moved on from. We are in a better place, which will hopefully help. We have a really competitive squad. It's going to be a tough game, we know that. These away games at tough venues, there are a good five or six of them outwith the Old Firm ones where you can't underestimate going into them. Last season, Dundee performed consistently at a really good level. They have made some signs that improve them, but early in the season you need a focus and drive to a performance and win.

Tony Docherty:  think in terms of Hearts and in particular Naisy last year – we both came about the same time as managers – I thought he had a fantastic season and his team did consistently well and they have started this season well as well. We’ve had a good look at them and identified a lot of strengths in their team and also weaknesses and it’s important for us as a team and me as manager to negate the strengths and exploit the weaknesses. But they are a good side and they had a very strong performance against Rangers at home and we are very aware of that. But I am very much concerned about my team and how we do on the day.

Who is the referee?
