The first Edinburgh derby of the season finished in a 2-2 draw after two second-half goals in as many minutes from Hibernian's Elie Youan cancelled out strikes from Alan Forrest and Alex Lowry.
Here's everything Forrest had to say when he spoke to the media after the full-time whistle:
Slightly mixed feelings after that one?
Aye, exactly that. I’m delighted to get on the scoresheet but it’s a sore one to take in the end with the way the game has finished. Being 2-0 up and then drawing the game, it’s obviously hard to take, but it’s also a point and we need to see that side of it as well. It’s definitely a sore one.
There’s getting on the scoresheet and then there’s getting on the scoresheet. Where does that one rank?
I think that has got to be my best goal – with the strike and also with the kind of game it is as well, the derby, it’s a perfect goal. In that aspect I’m delighted for myself but the fact we didn’t get the win takes the shine off it. I was still happy to score.
When you cut inside, was there only one thought on your mind?
Yeah. It was a good run from Toby [Sibbick] to be fair, he has taken the man away and opened up the space. I’ve come in and thought right away that it had opened up. I’ve just hit it and then it’s one of those where I knew right away. Sometimes they can go into the stand or whatever, but I’m right behind it so I could tell as soon as it left my boot. It was a great feeling at the time.
There was a point in the second half where you thought about having a go from the edge of the box as well.
Yeah, there were a few openings in the game. I think that’s where the frustration comes from because we had chances at 1-0 and 2-0 to get that third goal, which would have changed the game and made it really difficult for them to get back into it. At 2-0, it’s that scoreline where if they get the next goal then you can see what happened – they’ve got another one right after. From our point of view it’s a bit frustrating that we didn’t kick on and add more goals.

You must be hoping you can get more regular game time.
Yeah. I think that’s the same for any player – if you get that run in the team, you want to take it. And every player improves from playing games as well. It’s one of those where I’ve come into the team and tried to contribute with goals and assists, and everything that I can. Luckily I was able to do that.
On a personal level, where does that performance rank from your time at the club?
I think that’s got to be up there. I’m just speaking because we have not got that result – I would have said that was my best straight away, but the result takes the shine off it a bit. I think that’s got to be up there.
