Heart of Midlothian return to action this weekend when they host Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

It marks a run of four matches where Steven Naismith's men will face the Old Firm three times. After a meeting with the Scottish champions Hearts will travel to Ibrox before facing Rangers in the Viaplay Cup final at Hampden Park in November. Livingston at Tynecastle Park is sandwiched between the matches with Philippe Clement's side.

Since taking charge permanently, Naismith has had to contend with a number of injuries. Here are the players who have been or are out injured and when fans could expect to see them back in action:

Craig Gordon - The Hearts legend has returned to full training and featured in a behind closed doors game against The Spartans. Naismith called it the "next step" in an update via HeartsTV. Despite training consistently he is expected to play in more non first-team games before being considered for selection in November.

Nathaniel Atkinson - A longer-term absence and not back until towards the end of the year.

Craig Halkett - The centre-back has "come back onto the training pitch and been involved with the group at times" following a serious knee injury. There is not a "short-term, he'll be back very quickly". Like Gordon, Halkett will need to be involved in bounce games before a likely November return.

Stephen Kingsley - He has "progressed well" following an injury against Hibs. According to Naismith, however, "this next week or so is definitely going to be too quick for him". There will be hope he will be available for the semi-final.

Alex Cochrane - Returned to training ahead of the Hibs game and available for selection.

Barrie McKay - The same situation as Atkinson, not likely to be seen in action until December at the earliest.

Yutaro Oda - Similar to Cochrane. International break has allowed him to get back up to speed and will be involved.
