Steven Naismith has revealed that Stephen Kingsley has returned to training ahead of Heart of Midlothian’s trip to Ibrox on Sunday – but the head coach will be without the services of Kyosuke Tagawa in Glasgow.

Kingsley sustained an injury in the Edinburgh derby earlier this month, while a hamstring injury ruled Tagawa out of Sunday’s 4-1 defeat at home to Celtic.

Long-term absentees Craig Gordon and Craig Halkett are still building up their fitness and are still unavailable, but Naismith is hopeful that the pair will return to action in the not-too-distant future.

“Tagawa was feeling his hamstring at the weekend so he is out,” Naismith told Hearts TV. “Kingsley has come back into the group, and that’s probably the only update at the moment.

“Halkett has come back in but he is just going through his process of building up his training load.

“Craig is playing in a game today [for Hearts B against Rangers B] and he is similar to Halkett in that he is building up through matches and training.

“Hopefully within the next two or three weeks he can have moved on a lot with the amount of minutes and the amount of training.”
