Heart of Midlothian are not interested in striker Lys Mousset despite reported links.

The 27-year-old is looking for a club to reignite his career after leaving Bundesliga side VFL Bochum without playing a game. Mousset, who was signed by Sheffield United for a reported £10million in 2019, hasn't played at all this campaign and has started just 15 games in the previous three seasons.

He had been touted as a target for the Tynecastle Park club but Hearts Standard understands that is not the case and there is no interest in the player.

Hearts have signed Wolves right-back Dexter Lembikisa on a loan deal until the end of the season this window, a position that head coach Steven Naismith deemed a priority with Odel Offiah returning to parent club Brighton & Hove Albion and Nathaniel Atkinson at the Asian Cup with Australia.

The club remain hopeful of signing Scott Fraser on loan from Charlton Athletic. The former Dundee United midfielder was in attendance as Hearts defeated Dundee 3-2 at Tynecastle Park on Tuesday night. There has been a hold-up in the deal and the Addicks have sacked manager Michael Appleton. Fraser is keen on a move north to join the Jam Tarts.

"No update, we're still waiting," Naismith said after the win over Dundee. "I'm hoping it can be cleared for the weekend but basically, we're sitting waiting for Charlton to sign it off.

"I've not got a clue what the issue is but he's been in here, he's been about so hopefully it's something that doesn't take too long."
