Steven Naismith will be without Yutaro Oda for Heart of Midlothian's Capital city clash with Hibs at Tynecastle Park on Wednesday evening.

The Japanese winger sat out the weekend's defeat to Rangers having picked up an injury ahead of the trip to Ibrox. Despite progress, the midweek game comes too soon.

"Yutado missed out on Saturday," Naismith said via HeartsTV, "he had a slight injury. He'll not be involved tomorrow. That's probably the only one.

"It was a calf issue. It happened on Friday. He's better not ready to be back in the squad."

Hearts will continue to be without Barrie McKay, Peter Haring and Craig Halkett.

Rivals Hibs don't have any fitness issues with Dylan Levitt expected to recover from illness, while Cris Cadden could return to the squad.

Up to nine players across both sides could make their Edinburgh derby bow on Wednesday, including Hearts trio Dexter Lembikisa and Scott Fraser who were signed in January and Macaulay Tait. The previous matches this season ended 2-2 in Gorgie with the home side letting a two-goal lead slip before making up for it in the final clash between the sides of 2023 when Lawrence Shankland netted a stunning stoppage-time winner.

The match won't be broadcast live on Sky Sports with Livingston v Motherwell being shown instead.
