Kenneth Vargas missed Heart of Midlothian's 2-0 win over Celtic with a groin issue.

The Costa Rican missed training in the build-up to the Premiership clash at Tynecastle Park. However, it is not thought to be serious and should be available for the Scottish Cup clash with Greenock Morton a week on Monday.

Steven Naismith said: "He had a tight groin. It's nothing serious but we didn't want to risk it today."

The defensive trio of Stephen Kingsley, Toby Sibbick and Kye Rowles impressed in the victory on Sunday with both Frankie Kent and Craig Halkett out injured.

Naismith provided an update on the centre-back duo.

"Kent will be a couple of weeks, at least," he said. "We don't have a timescale on Halkett yet. There has been an issue with an appointment we are still waiting on."

He added: "Toby was brilliant today. For not having many minutes, he comes in and does really well. We lost Kenneth, we've been without Barrie McKay and Liam Boyce most of the season, but we have a group that can see progress and see they are in a good place. Competition is high so when you get those moments you've got to take them. I thought the players who came in did that."
