Steven Naismith has revealed that six players will miss Heart of Midlothian’s Scottish Cup quarter-final clash away to Morton on Monday evening.

Hearts travel to Cappielow as the favourites to progress to the final four, but they will have to be wary of Dougie Imrie’s in-form second-tier side.

Centre-backs Frankie Kent and Craig Halkett will both miss the cup tie, as will long-term absentees Barrie McKay and Liam Boyce. Midfielder Calem Nieuwenhof picked up a hamstring injury last Sunday and is also unavailable, as is Yutaro Oda.

There was, however, a positive update in regards to Kenneth Vargas, who missed last weekend’s 2-0 win over Celtic at Tynecastle Park.

“Calem is out and he will still be a few weeks,” Naismith told Hearts TV. “Frankie is out too.

“Kenneth is back training. Barrie McKay is back training – he’s still a few weeks away, but he is on course as the timeline was at the start, so he is in a really good place.

“Yutaro has got a small issue as well so he is out.

“We have still got a healthy squad so we are in a good place. The one other who hasn’t been training – but it’s nothing major – is Scott Fraser but he will be back in training on Sunday.”
