St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson lamented Lawrence Shankland, his goal-scoring ability and to turn it on for Heart of Midlothian when he faces the Buddies.

The Paisley side twice took the lead in the penultimate fixture of the season but were twice pegged back as the game finished 2-2.

Kyosuke Tagawa equalised James Scott's opener in the first-half before a sublime Shankland effort looped over Zach Hemming and into the back of the net to cancel out James Bolton's header. It was his fourth goal against the Buddies in the last two seasons and third this campaign.

Robinson commented on the standard of the finish and felt the final result reflected the game itself.

“I thought it was a really good and open game and a wonderful finish from Shankland again," he said. "He always seems to save his best for against us!

“We arguably could have won, but there wasn’t a lot between the teams. First-half we really started well, Hearts then got control for 20 minutes. Second half we came out again and were the better side, we changed shape and brought on players and had some half chances to win the game. But, arguably, a draw is a fair result from an entertaining game.”
