Don Cowie expressed his admiration for Yan Dhanda as the playmaker concluded an instrumental two-year spell at Ross County and prepares to join Heart of Midlothian.

Dhanda, 25, played 79 games for the Staggies following his transfer from Swansea in 2022.

He is now set to depart the Highlands to sign with the Edinburgh giants, having secured a pre-contract agreement earlier this year.

Reacting to losing his star man, the Ross County manager said: “Yan has been an integral part of our football club over the last two seasons, a player who the fans have really grown to love.

“We wish him and his family the very best in his move to Hearts and look forward to welcoming him back to the Global Energy Stadium next season.”

After ensuring their Premiership status with a 6-1 aggregate win over Raith Rovers in the play-off final, Ross County announced the departure of midfielder Jordan Tillson, 31, who has been with the club for four years.

Additionally, academy graduates Adam Mackinnon and Matthew Wright will also be leaving the team.

On Tillson heading for pastures new, Cowie commented: “Jordan has been a tremendous servant for our football club amassing over 100 appearances.

“He has been a model professional and we wish him and his family the very best for the next chapter in his career.”

The Dingwall club also announced loan players Will Nightingale, George Wickens, Loick Ayina, Teddy Jenks, Eli King, Brandon Khela, and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have all gone back to their respective parent clubs.
