Heart of Midlothian have not received any offers for Japanese striker Kyosuke Tagawa.

Over the weekend the 25-year-old was linked with Urawa Red Diamonds. It was reported in his homeland that he is a possible option for the Red Devils, one of the country's biggest clubs.

The J1 League season is nearly at the midpoint and the three-time AFC Champions League winners are sitting 10th in the 20-team season. Scoring hasn't been an issue for the side but they reportedly view Tagawa as an option to strengthen the squad.

The Japanese transfer window doesn't open until July 8 and closes on August 21 more than a week before the Scottish window.

While that may be the case, Hearts Standard understands the club have not received any offers or notes of interest in the player who finished the season strongly.

As head coach Steven Naismith had said of any player in the squad, should an attractive offer come the club would take it under consideration.

Signed 12 months ago from FC Tokyo on a three-year deal for a six-figure fee, Tagawa struggled to make an impact for the majority of the season, playing a bit-part role in the shadow of Lawrence Shankland's famous season.

He scored just once until the final two games of the campaign. He then demonstrated his ability in front of goal with strikes against St Mirren and then Rangers, the latter securing a 3-3 draw on the final day of the season at Tynecastle Park.

"I'm delighted for him," Zander Clark said after that draw. "He has come from the other side of the world and it took him a bit of time to settle. He has got that in the locker and we see it every day in training.

"I couldn't be happier for him. I don't know how you say that in Japanese to translate it for him. He probably won't understand me!"

Despite his struggles for most of the season, Tagawa became a popular player amongst the Hearts support and had his own chant. Supporters are keen to see him kick on in the 2024/25 campaign with a full pre-season behind him.
