Jess Broadrick is Heart of Midlothian Women’s sixth summer signing after the defender signed a two-year deal to join up with Eva Olid’s squad ahead of the new season.
The 19-year-old centre-half joins from Aberdeen, where she made 124 appearances in total and scored eight goals, and Olid is confident that Broadrick can take her game to the next level in maroon.
“It’s no secret that with the huge loss of Georgia Hunter, we’re now short in the defensive area of the pitch,” Olid told the Hearts website. “However, it was somewhere we’d identified that we'd like to strengthen prior to the window opening regardless.

“Jess has a lot of qualities which I like. She’s strong, fast and aggressive and at the age of 19, it’s rare to possess all of them so soon. Now we want her to be in this environment and go to the next level.
“She’s extremely versatile and again, for a player so young, that’s a rare attribute to have. She will add serious competition in all areas of our defensive third and I’m looking forward to working with her.”
Olid has wasted little time in adding to her squad over the summer. Bayley Hutchison, the SWPL’s top goal scorer last season, and central midfielder Eilidh Jones also swapped the Dons for Hearts, both signing two-year contracts. Last week, deals were finalised for forward Jackie Richards, midfielder Lisa Robertson and attacking midfielder Kayla Jardine.
