Heart of Midlothian will face Burnley in a pre-season friendly this weekend.

Steven Naismith will take his side south of the border for what will be a double header in Lancashire. On Friday, Hearts B will play against Burnley Under-21s with the first-team of each club in action the following day.

Burnley are now managed by Scott Parker following their relegation from the Premier League. They recently sold a goalkeeper to Ipswich Town for £15million and have the likes of Wout Weghorst, Nathan Redmond and Aaron Ramsey on their books.

Saturday's fixture will be the fourth friendly for Hearts after a behind-closed-doors clash with Partick Thistle followed by home matches against Leyton Orient and Tottenham Hotspur. The club will return to England a week on Saturday having arranged a fixture with Fleetwood Town ahead of the Scottish Premiership campaign beginning at the start of August.

Hearts have undergone a tough pre-season with a warm-weather training camp in Tenerife. Since returning, they have lost 2-1 to Leyton Orient and 5-1 to Spurs

Naismith was happy with the test posed by the Premier League side at Tynecastle Park on Wednesday night. Hearts competed well for an hour before the game became stretched.

"I thought there were loads of positives, especially in the first half," he said. "When you go toe-to-toe with a team like Spurs you are going to get picked off and that's what you see at the end of the game.

"At the start, we create as many good chances as they have, we should have scored. We were patient and tried to use this more as what could be an opportunity to play against a team in Europe so I thought from that aspect it was good. We carried a threat, we had pace, we made good decisions."

Hearts B, meanwhile, will play two matches on their travels. After the fixture with Burnley Under-21s on Friday, they will play Northern Premier League outfit Bamber Bridge on the Sunday ahead of the season starting a week on Friday when Liam Fox's side welcome East Stirlingshire to Ainslie Park.
