Heart of Midlothian could allow Lewis Neilson to move on loan this summer with interest from the Scottish Premiership.
St Johnstone are keen to bolster their defence ahead of the new campaign. Former Hearts duo Craig Levein and Andy Kirk have set their sights on Neilson, as per reports. Saints, however, are not expected to be the only side interested in the centre-back.
As things stand, Steven Naismith's squad stands at 30. Toby Sibbick left on Wednesday, joining Wigan Atheltic on a two-year deal. Further departures are expected with Nathaniel Atkinson already told minutes would be limited this season.

With Frankie Kent, Daniel Oyegoke, Stephen Kingsley, Kye Rowles and Craig Halkett all set to play a part this season, Neilson faces stiff competition for a starting role. Gerald Taylor is also another option who can play on the right side of defence.
Neilson spent last season on loan at Partick Thistle, making 43 appearances. He featured 16 times in his first campaign at Tynecastle Park after joining from Dundee United but most of those came in the first half of the season.
Meanwhile, Jorge Grant is expected to return to the squad soon. He missed the club's first-team photo shoot due to a personal matter.
