Heart of Midlothian have received no offers for Lawrence Shankland during the summer transfer window, CEO Andrew McKinlay has confirmed. 

The Scotland internationalist has been repeatedly linked with a move to Rangers, who Hearts host in their Scottish Premiership curtain-raiser on Saturday. 

Reigning league champions, Celtic, have also been suggested as a possible destination for the 28-year-old. 

Shankland has scored 59 goals across his 94 appearances for the Jam Tarts, but would be free to speak to other clubs in January because he only has a year left on his current contract.

The Hearts talisman put further talks around his Tynecastle future on hold prior to the European Championships, and McKinlay believes the 2023/24 Player of the Season will remain in Gorgie for at least the upcoming campaign. 

"Is that still being talked about?," McKinlay gasped during an interview on Hearts TV.

"So, it's amazing as we come up to play Rangers in the first game of the season that Lawrence is linked with a move to Rangers.

"Although, I see this week he's now been linked with a move to Celtic.

"As we sit here now, it's still the case that we've had no offers. We've not even had any notes of enquiry or anything to do with Lawrence. 

"So, as we sit here, Lawrence is very much a Hearts player, and as far as I'm concerned, will remain a Hearts player unless or until an appropriate offer comes in.

"Lawrence is very much part of our plans for the coming season and I hope it remains that way."
