The Scottish Premiership fixture between St Mirren and Heart of Midlothian has been brought forward after an agreement between the clubs.

The league contest was set to be played on Wednesday, December 4 at the SMiSA Stadium in Paisley.

However, after discussions between the clubs, the match will now instead be played next month.

The fixture is now rearranged for Saturday, September 21 at 3pm.

The fixture slot is available due to neither club being involved in the quarter-final stage of the Premier Sports Cup which takes place on the weekend of September 21/22.

A Hearts announcement read: "Fixture change. Our William Hill Premiership match away to St Mirren on Wed, Dec 4th has been brought forward at the request of the clubs.

"We now face the Buddies in Paisley on Sat, Sept 21st at 3pm."

And St Mirren confirmed in a statement: "Our William Hill Premiership home match against Heart of Midlothian, originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday 4th December, will now be played on Saturday 21st September.

"The fixture has been moved forward following agreement from both clubs."
