Finlay Pollock has become the latest Heart of Midlothian starlet to sign a contract extension.

The 20-year-old has signed a new deal until 2026.

It follows Callum Sandilands new deal which extended his stay until 2027.

Pollock will now head out on loan to Raith Rovers until the end of the season, with the club holding an option to recall the player in January.

The winger has overcome injury issues in the last couple of years and made a hugely positive impression as a winger with the B team. He has been an unused substitute for the first team on a few occasions as well.

Steven Naismith explained the need now is for the player to gain as many minutes as possible at as high a level as possible.

“Since working with Finlay at B Team level, I’ve been highly impressed by not just his ability, but also his attitude," he told the club's official website.

"Finlay’s desire to work his way back to full fitness reflects that attitude. I’m delighted that he’s committed his future to the club.

“The next step for Finlay is to gain regular minutes at a high level like Raith Rovers, by training well during the week and putting in good performances on matchdays. I fully expect Finlay to be pushing for a place in our first team in the near future.

“We look forward to welcoming him back to Tynecastle having had good competitive minutes.”
