Heart of Midlothian fans got their first glimpse of Lee Wallace in a first-team setting in over 13 years.
A clip shared by the club on social media saw him instructing the current first team during training on Friday ahead of this afternoon's Scottish Premiership fixture with Ross County.
He, along with another former Hearts player Angus Beith, will be standing beside interim head coach Liam Fox in the home technical area at Tynecastle Park as assistant.
Aside from a handful of friendlies, Wallace's last first-team experience in the maroon and white was a 2-0 defeat at Tannadice toward the end of the 2010/11 season, prior to a move to Rangers that summer.
He returned last season, getting a feel for the club and coaching with a view to a permanent role which he took up this summer with the club's under-18s. Beith, meanwhile, has had various roles at the club since retiring at the age of 23 due to a recurring hip issue, the latest was a promotion to B team assistant.
“They know the club inside out," Fox said. "The two of them have been a massive help to me this week. They know me as well, which helps.
"Angus has obviously worked with me a period of time, I've had a long, long-standing relationship with Lee Wallace. Both of them, first of all, really good human beings, really good guys. Desperate to help, desperate to do well. Lee had an unbelievable playing career, so he carries that.
“Me and Lee actually played with some of this group. We both played with Barry McKay, going way, way back. I played with Craig Gordon, going way, way back, same youth team. Just how they are as people, how they engage with people."

Hearts have been keen to have more former players involved within the club, especially in the academy where experience and knowledge can be passed onto those coming through.
In Wallace and Beith, Fox believes the club have two talented coaches.
“I think Lee and Angus moving forward in the future will be very, very good," he said. "Their appetite for learning, their knowledge, their detail, how they are as human beings, they're going to be really, really good.
"At whatever route they decide to go on in football, whether it be coaching, whether it be managing, whatever they be, you've got two really, really potential high-level people there.”
