Former Heart of Midlothian coach Gordon Forrest has secured a new job in China just two weeks after leaving Tynecastle.

The 47-year-old has joined Shenzhen Peng City who are part of the City Football Group network.

Forrest has agreed an initial short-term deal until the end of the year, with the club sitting third bottom of the table and fighting relegation.

The Chinese Super League runs from March to November, with just three games remaining until the season finishes.

Before joining Hearts, Forrest had been an assistant coach to the New Zealand women's national team and MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps.
