Omonia Nicosia head coach Valdas Dambrauskas lavished Heart of Midlothian with priase following the 2-0 win over the Cypriots at Tynecastle Park.
Neil Critchley's side dominated the first half of the Conference League tie, scoring twice in the first 24 minutes. They then comfortably held on for the remainder of the game.
Lithuanian Dambrauskas had spoken positively about Hearts ahead of the match, admitting he had a strong feeling toward the club owing to the number of players from his homeland that turned out for the club.
He admitted that his Omonia side were second best in the first half and couldn't cope with the hosts.
“First of all congratulations to Hearts and their win in this beautiful stadium and beautiful environment," he said. “The way they played was exactly what we predicted and what we talked about before the game.
“We knew the first 15-10 minutes we would have to take a lot of pressure because that’s how Hearts live on the energy from their fans, they put a lot of pressure on. And we couldn’t get into the game in any way. We couldn’t impose ourselves with possession.
“We were second best, basically in everything. Hearts were faster, they made better decisions, they were more powerful than this.
“They got the two goals very quickly, and after that it was an uphill battle.”
