The big news of the day in Gorgie has not only been the announcement that the club have entered a partnership with Jamestown Analytics but that Tony Bloom is indeed interested in investing in the club with talks ongoing.
Now, yes, both can easily be linked with one another. After all, Tony Bloom owns Brighton and has a minority shareholding in Union Saint-Gilloise - having previously been majority shareholder - and both clubs have a partnership with Jamestown Analytics but it is important to separate the two.
Firstly, the analytics agreement is not linked to a possible investment. Hearts have been using the analytics prior to the announcement. They used it to guide them in the hiring of a new head coach. And they are using it to plan for the January transfer window and beyond.
That is perhaps the most exciting aspect of it all. It is hoped Hearts can strengthen their squad and improve on-field performances through the use of the advanced but secret analysis and data the way clubs who have entered partnerships with Jamestown have. After all, Hearts will have exclusive use of the analytics in Scotland and, in theory, could open new avenues, unearth talent and allow the club to move quickly on talent.
In turn it could revolutionise recruitment and player trading.
On the other side is Bloom's investment. Talks are ongoing and no deal is likely to be announced in the coming weeks. But there is the opportunity for Hearts to get into bed with a hugely successful businessman who has helped transform not just one but two clubs in Brighton and USG.
For him to take on a minority shareholding it may require the issuing of shares and the possible dilution of Foundation of Hearts' majority shareholding. In turn, the FOH are holding a vote at its AGM next month to amend its articles of association around what percentage of members voting is required to back any share issue which would see the shareholding decrease. More can be found HERE.
It is therefore a really important vote and could shape the future of the club. Be sure to get involved because on the surface it is a really exciting time to be a Hearts fan.

📱 We of course have a Hearts Standard app and I believe it is the best way to consume all the content. I used to do all my reading on a browser, whether it is my phone or laptop, but thought the Atheltic app was a game changer. And think our one is as good.
Everything is in one place and is easy to find. The pictures on the app are a lot sharper than they are when viewed via a browser. The stills we use from matches and graphics from our partner StatsBomb really stand out on the app and the resolution is much higher. You can adjust the text size with a swipe of the finger and the bookmark feature allows you to keep tabs on content that you want to read in the future. There is also an audio option that reads aloud entire articles for those who struggle to read, and additional features are being worked on in the background.
